The Funniest April Fools

My dad is a jokester. I can't tell you how many times I fell for his April fool's jokes. How many times can a kid believe that she is moving to Hawaii? More than I'd like to count! But his all-time best joke was played on the head of security at his hospital (my dad worked as a hospital director before he retired).

I believe April fools landed on a Saturday that year and my dad woke up early to phone one of his employees about an unusual event.

"Monkeys! There are rabid monkeys loose in the ER!" He yelled into the phone. "Get there and lock the area down NOW!" Us kids held our months to stifle the laughter.

His employee sped all the way to the ER, frantically parked in a no-parking zone, threw open the doors and yelled "WHERE ARE THE MONKEYS?"

Classic. I love my dad. And that's no joke!

Triste.

And I am going..

Liz and I met while students at PLNU. We quickly became the bestest of friends. You could find us shopping or dancing the night away at a club (we always got in free, thanks to our plethora of bouncer friends). Even though we had our moments of drama (who doesn't?), we had a blast together and were "attached at the hip". And even though we are in different states now, our friendship has continued (thanks to Facebook and email) through all our life changes.

Liz is expecting her first daughter in June. And I am over-the-moon for her and her husband, Chris. I know they will make great, fun parents! While discussing the baby shower, I realized that I could go! Tickets aren't that expensive and I'd only be gone a couple days. Oh the excitement! I get to see my friends and the sun and the ocean and celebrate the anticipation of a wonderful little baby!

And....I get to eat at In N Out, Santanas, Cotijas, and Miguels again. *Squeal*

Not for the romantically challenged..

Text from the husband today:

"I was just thinking... You are one sexy and beautiful woman. Also that i love you so much and think how quickly life can change, within four years how each of our lives have changed and how they will change in the next four..."

Gawd, I love this man! What did I do to deserve such love? I love life and feel like no matter what, things will be great because I have him.

Life is so joyous.

Restless.

I miss my favorite city.

Maybe a vacation is in order?
